How to transform an old farmhouse into a contemporary and comfortable house? Olivier takes us on a tour of his charming home with its refined decoration, putting into perspective the photo of a mythical Swiss mountain, The Matterhorn.
A decorative photo in the interior of a renovated farmhouse
Olivier opens the doors of this typical old farmhouse entirely renovated and restyled by an interior decorator. His wish was to preserve the soul of this more than hundred year old building. But it was also necessary to bring a very personal touch, which would crystallize all his childhood memories: a mountain image. And not just any mountain, the majestic Matterhorn, on the Italian-Swiss border between the Valais and the Aosta Valley.
A mountain photo as a design wall decoration
It is on a wall painted anthracite color that this black and white mountain photo found its place. A print art vertical format of 50×100 cm. Why did you choose a mountain photo in winter? First of all because The Matterhorn reminds Olivier of his youthful vacations spent at Zermatt with his grandmother. So this photograph is like a tribute to the one who accompanied him as a child, and who forged in him a taste for beautiful landscapes and beautiful objects.
This photo has been carefully selected among the 172 prints of the Matterhorn that I offer on my website of sale of art photos on line. It has found its place in Olivier's renovated farmhouse, as a real design object, and brings a contemporary note to the interior decoration of the house.
Wood, a warm and authentic material
The Prestance oakphoto frame contributes to the perfect integration of this photograph of the North face of the Matterhorn in the living room. The wood contours are reminiscent of the natural wood of the floor, furniture and driftwood sculptures in this large living room open to the garden.
The white of this decoration photo is not without reminding the original beams whose wood has been repainted in white. A decorative trick to give height and depth to this low-ceilinged room.
How to enhance a photo painting?
The light and the lighting of each room play an important role in the interior design. Here the photograph is staged on a charcoal gray wall with ideal proportions. The print vertical photo benefits from the brightness of the room provided by a large bay window. It comes in contrast with the sofa, also gray. Grey, white, wood Light... trendy tones that harmonize with the black and white photograph of the Matterhorn.
When it comes to decorating the interior of a house, an interior designer can be called upon, as in the case of frame of this farmhouse renovation. His mission is to imagine aesthetic spaces, pleasant to live in and functional. Among the options to consider, there are the volumes, the light, the colors, the materials and the furniture. But above all, it's about creating a place that reflects its owners, in which they will feel good.
And sometimes a constraint is added, like a picture of the Matterhorn that becomes the central element in the living room. It attracts all eyes, because a art photo in black and white, 1 meter high, attracts attention and fascinates. It is an expression of the buyer's sensitivity, but also of the photographer's. It is indeed much more than a simple poster hung on a wall. My prints are printed on photographic paper and with high quality inks. They are in limited edition, and delivered with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity.
