Zermatt, a genuine ampitheatre at the heart of the Swiss Alps. The walls of the Couronne Impériale face the Mischabel range on the other side of the Mattertal.
The north faces of the Breithorn, Lyskamm and Mont Rose ranges are genuine walls of ice. They form a natural border with Italy and the valleys of Valtournenche and d’Ayas and Gressoney.
It’s also here that the one and only Matterhorn can be seen, which has made the valley famous across the whole world.
