At the heart of the Swiss landscape, the bernese alps mountains are a spectacle of natural majesty, stretching gracefully between the cantons of Vaud, Fribourg and Valais. Home to such giants as the Finsteraarhorn, the Aletschhorn and the mythical Jungfrau, these mountains form a horizon where the sublime meets the eternal. Embraced by the waters of the Aare, Sarine and Rhône rivers, they form a symphony of reliefs, where mineral and glacial combine in a never-ending ballet.

Patience was a virtue Thomas Crauwels needed to tame the unique meteorological vagaries of the Bernese Oberland, searching for that magical ‘in-between’ where, after a storm, the clouds part to make way for breathtaking panoramas. It took him five years to understand the rhythms of the climate, finally capturing those rare moments when the sky, between light and shadow, reveals the full splendour of these mountains.
