Rochefort Dome
Nestled on the famous Rochefort ridge, the Dôme de Rochefort (4,015 m) is one of those summits whose natural elegance instantly captivates the eye. Overlooking the Mer de Glace on the French side and the upper Italian valley, it forms part of a panorama of rare intensity, where the peaks of Mont Blanc rival each other in splendor and ruggedness. Its gentle silhouette contrasts with the verticality of the surrounding peaks, giving it a singular charm.
Thomas Crauwels sees the Dôme de Rochefort as a source of inspiration: a place where light hugs the curves of snow, and where every moment takes on the ephemeral grace of extreme altitudes. In his photographs, he immortalizes fleeting shadows on the snow, the sparkle of crystals in the bright sunlight, or the poetry of twilight setting the horizon ablaze. Here, the mountain is by turns welcoming and solitary, guiding the observer into an intimate contemplation.
