Lyskamm
On the border between the Zermatt and Gressoney valleys, the 4,532-metre-high Lyskamm, with its two 4,000-metre summits , reigns with fierce elegance over the Monte Rosa massif. On the Swiss side, its north face is covered with hanging glaciers, a veritable lacework of ice that gives this giant a character as fascinating as it is intimidating. At the foot of this colossus, the Monte Rosa refuge nestles like an alpine haven, the silent guardian of a glacial universe where every breath seems to come from the summit.
For Thomas Crauwelsthe Lyskamm is more than a summit : it's a photographic adventure in which the mountain's wild beauty is revealed in an infinite series of contrasts. The imposing seracs, tapering ridges and perpetual motion of the clouds create an ever-changing picture, requiring a patient eye and a keen sense of the decisive moment. In this quest, every light, every shadow, becomes a source of inspiration, revealing the power and delicacy of these high altitudes.
Through his work, Thomas transcends simple representation to offer an intimate encounter with the Lyskamm : a dialogue between man and mountain, where ice, rock and sky intermingle in ephemeral harmony. Each photograph is an eulogy to altitude and purity, a tribute to this legendary summit , proud guardian of the Swiss-Italian border and glacial jewel in the shadow of Monte Rosa.
