Pointe Louis Amédée
Perched at the summit the Brouillard ridge on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, Pointe Louis Amédée is a summit of character, guarding the glacial depths of this legendary massif. Named in honor of Louis-Amédée de Savoie, Duke of Abruzzo and pioneering mountaineer, it bears the legacy of a passion for discovery and exploration. Its little-known summit is nonetheless visible from many Alpine locations, and is characterized by the rocky contrast it provides next to the summit Mont Blanc.
Thomas Crauwels finds in Pointe Louis Amédée the source of a rare inspiration: the play of light and shadow on the rock, the serenity of a high-altitude sky and the raw energy of the surrounding glaciers. His photographs capture the majesty of this summit, revealing the intensity of a mountain where silence and tranquility still reign. Each shot invites us to share a face-to-face encounter with immensity, a moment of grace where nature reveals itself in all its power.
