A dazzling journey to discover Mount Rose, in the heart of the Alps. This panoramic black-and-white photograph brings together almost all the mountain's summits . In the foreground is Breithorn, one of the most easily climbed mountains over 4,000 metres. In front of us, its western ridge, with its magnificent snow dome and hanging glacier. I created this work in the summer of 2020. Since then, the mountain has suffered drought and the landscape has changed. A huge crevasse, barely visible here, has opened up, transforming the face of Breithorn forever. We then cross the five Breithorn, a magnificent high mountain run. The ridge takes us to summit du Pollux, with Castor on the right. We turn left again, crossing the Liskamm. Our steps then lead us to the Pointe Gnifetti / Signalkuppe, where we find the Margherita hut, the highest refuge in the Alps. After climbing the Zumsteinspitze, our journey ends at summit of Dufourspitze and Nordend.

Rare are the moments when you can admire such a panorama. I had to wait for the right moment. When the summer snow arrives and covers the highest summits with snow. When the clouds part after the storm. When the sun's rays illuminate the mountains from that special angle, highlighting their northern slopes. Nature offers us this spectacle only a few days a year. Moments that occur less and less frequently, and that I have to watch out for. So that I can bear witness to their unrivalled splendour through my art.

It's hard not to be captivated by such beauty! Through this photograph, I wanted to convey to you the emotion of the high mountains. A feeling that pierces us as the peaks defy the horizon. Contemplate the scale of summits and the distance between them. Each ascent is an adventure lasting several days. What are we in the face of these titans of rock and ice? The clouds part and filter the light, bringing softness and depth to the picture. Glaciers sparkle and rocks are cloaked in velvet. The Mount Rose massif, magisterial and sumptuous, reigns over the skies.
