Celestial pyramids so dear to my heart, the Aiguilles de Chamonix rise from the Mont Blanc massif. These jewels of the French Alps dominate the landscape with unrivalled grandeur. This photograph, one of my few works in color, captures the vibrant orange of the rock, a hue so emblematic of this region that it would have been regrettable to obscure it.

That evening, the storm was in full swing. The sky was a milky white when a fleeting clearing appeared. A window to the celestial realm had opened, offering a glimpse of the ephemeral beauty of the world above. The mountains were revealed, sparkling under a pristine sky. The time had come to immortalize this exceptional scene.

The journey begins to the left of the picture. The Aiguille de la République rises with striking verticality. Our visual odyssey continues. From the Aiguille du Grand Charmoz, it takes us to Blaitière, the Ciseaux, the Aiguille du Fou and the Pointe de Lépiney. The chain of summits climbs ends at the Aiguille du Plan, after passing through the Dent du Crocodile. Below the Aiguille du Plan, the Aiguille des Deux Aigles rises up, partially frosted, revealing its orange robe of rare beauty. The soft light of the sky brings a new dimension to my art. Each time I contemplate this work, I travel from peak to peak, discovering unsuspected details. The Alps reign supreme. And these summits stand out like defensive walls against Mont Blanc, the undisputed king of the French Alps.
