Mysterious and grandiose,Allalinhorn emerges from the mist, whitened by the winds. The panoramic black-and-white photograph highlights the various ridges of this emblematic mountain in the Saas Fee valley, in the Valais Alps. Relatively easy to access,Allalinhorn is one of the first summits climbs above 4000 metres. From left to right, you can see the Hohlaubgrat, the normal route, the ridge leading to the Feechopf and its south ridge, a magnificent traverse that leads from the Allalinpass to the mountain's summit .

I took this portrait ofAllalinhorn in the late spring of 2020. While the storm has covered its flanks with a thick blanket of snow, the mountain is reborn in the light of the sun's first rays. I love the splendour of its north face, which shines like a diamond. At this very moment,Allalinhorn is formidable. Avalanche-prone and terribly unstable. Impetuous nature redesigns the mountain. And that's how I like to photograph it. In those extremes where wild nature reveals its greatness. Snow, rock and ice, the celestial kingdom invites us on the most beautiful of journeys.
