Blüemisalp
Bewitching Mist
About the work
The work is abstract, dazzling and luminous. I love the softness of its silvery tones, the vaporous beauty of its clouds, the crystalline frost of its rocks. The mountain is more of a guess than a statement. Leaving it to our imagination to explore its contours. We imagine its grandeur and the beauty of the landscapes it overlooks. 2000 metres below lies Lake Oeschinen. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered the most beautiful mountain lake in the Alps. For the time being, however, only the high summits emerge from the void.
This bewitching photograph advocates the aesthetics of nothing, or of the essential. Snow sculpted by the wind, rock sublimated by ice. When man ventures into this celestial realm, he returns transformed, nourished by grandeur and serenity. This portrait of Blüemisalp invites contemplation, interpretation, dreams and peace of mind. A frozen moment that seems eternal, but is in fact nothing of the sort. A fraction of a second can change everything, whether in the mountains or the valleys.
