An exceptional panorama of the Bernina massif, which rises on the border between the Swiss and Italian Alps. I shot this black and white work from the heights of Diavolezza, on the Pontresina ski area. From this vantage point, the view of Piz Palü, Bellavista, Crast'Agüzza, Piz Bernina and Biancograt is breathtaking. The Bernina mountains come into view in all their majesty.

This photograph was born of an encounter in the spring of 2023. I crossed Switzerland to reach summits. Listening to nature and waiting for the precious moment when the clouds would give way to the sparkling mountains. A night of waiting, icy and terrifying. When, at dawn, the Bernina massif awoke, whitewashed from the night's furious winds. So I seized my chance, immortalizing the fleeting splendor of this overwhelming world. In just a few minutes, shadow gave way to light, and the Vadret Pers glacier regained its brilliance.

This work holds a special place in my heart, as it opens the way to my fondest memories. When I look at it, I'm reminded of the summer of 2024, when I was lucky enough to complete the traverse of the Bernina massif. An unforgettable adventure. From the Fuorcla Prievlusa pass, on the right of the picture, we climbed the famous Biancograt before reaching summit of Piz Bernina. After reaching Fuorcla Crast'Agüzza, we had to continue our expedition as the Marco e Rosa refuge was closed. We couldn't stop, we couldn't breathe. We had to move on and complete our journey in a single day. After crossing the Bellavista terraces, we crossed the Fuorcla Bellavista pass. The trip ended with an ascent of Piz Palü. What a pleasure to relive such an epic!
