From the Dent Blanche hut in the Val d'Hérens, the Matterhorn rises in all its splendor, dominating the Alps at 4,478 meters above sea level. This portrait reveals the famous Lion Ridge, one of the main routes to the summit the Matterhorn. The summit, freshly covered in light snow, presents itself with incomparable elegance. Clouds play an essential role. They gently envelop the Matterhorn, creating a mystical atmosphere. The clouds, at once light and imposing, seem to caress the mountain. But they take nothing away from the Matterhorn's breathtaking verticality! Take a look at the different faces. They're as impressive as they are inspiring.

The Matterhorn has always held a special place in my heart. And it was a great privilege to climb it with my friend Vivian Bruchez. In this black-and-white photograph, I pay homage to this mythical summit and the singular beauty of its Lion's Ridge. Each relief tells a story of wind, ice and age-old rock.
