Matterhorn - Dent d'Hérens
summits of Purity
About the work
In the foreground of this grandiose panorama, the whiteness of the glaciers of the Hérens plateau illustrates the absolute purity of the high mountains. A radiance exacerbated by the moment, as the winds recede and the sky clears. This velvety mantle guides our gaze towards the two snow-capped pyramids, regal and sumptuous. In the shadows, the west face of the Matterhorn unfurls, vertiginous and deliberate. Piercing the sky with its sharp point. The Zmutt and Lion ridges outline its imposing silhouette. On the right, the Dent d'Hérens exposes its northeastern face to the sun's first rays. Sentinels of rock, they open the way to the highest summits in the Swiss Alps. The Monte Rosa massif appears on the horizon. Dufourspitze , Castor, Pollux, Breithorn and Liskamm make up this incredible natural wall.
Through a play of shapes and perspectives, I invite you on an extraordinary journey to the heart of the Alps. I took this photograph against the light, so that indirect light would reveal the most intimate details of the mountains. The secret beauty of their textures and lines. An exceptional spectacle that photography offers to eternity.
