In the early hours of the morning, just as the shadow of the storm is receding, the sky lights up with a nascent glow. It's at this precise moment that the exceptional panorama of the Courchevel ski area, still draped in mist, is revealed. From the valley, there's no hint of the grandiose spectacle unfolding here, on the border between the visible and the invisible. The slopes, freshly groomed, are just emerging from their nocturnal torpor; there's no one to walk on them yet. In this photographic work, I wanted to capture the very essence of the mountain: its majesty and mystery, its gentleness and power. A scene that illustrates both the serenity regained after the storm and the promise of a new day.

And yet, behind this soothing image, the harshness of the terrain can be discerned. In the foreground, the Aiguille du Fruit stands out as a mythical summit of Courchevel, the vigilant guardian of the area. The ridge that extends it gradually fades into the clouds, reinforcing the dreamlike quality of the composition. To the left, the Aiguille des Corneillets rises like a wild totem, also shrouded in mist. Further to the left, the Aiguille de Polset and the Aiguille de Péclet appear, and at their feet the last glaciers of Courchevel flow, remnants of a more extensive glacial past, of which only a faint glimmer can be perceived. What strikes me here is the contrast between the immensity of the summits and the delicacy of the light, all bathed in an atmosphere of rare purity.

The background unfolds in a choreography of legendary summits . The Etendard massif, the Aiguilles d'Arves, La Meije and the Ecrins massif loom large on the horizon. Beyond these mountains, one travels in thought to even more distant lands, carried away by the slow rhythm of the clouds. Where the rock outcrops, the snow still clings, shaping a relief gently rounded by winter. The atmosphere becomes almost unreal: the sea of mist, whipped up by the last gusts of wind, envelops the resort in a cottony silence. The harshness and fragility of a resort renowned for its liveliness and excellence is palpable.

If this photograph invites contemplation, it also conceals a double vision. Beyond the carefully groomed slopes, it's the primitive power of the mountain that I wanted to highlight. Courchevel is revealed here in its wild dimension: a rugged, majestic territory whose beauty emerges when the elements recede and the first ray of sunlight dares to pierce the gloom. In large format, the eye can plunge into the details: the complex tangle of corridors, the striking alternation between light and shadow, the silvery hue of snow still untouched by human traces. I marvel at this alliance between the wild and the civilized, as if nature were reminding us that the high mountains are never totally subject to man's will.

It is through this panoramic work that I hope to convey the deep emotion felt in these fleeting moments. Just after the storm, the mountain appears in all its splendour: vast, imposing, yet delicate beneath the veil of mist. Stepping back, we realize how these summits form a universe constantly reinvented by the whims of time. You can also see the perfect harmony between the resort and its setting, a subtle link where the ski area rubs shoulders with the great wilderness. This is the magic of Courchevel: an Alpine sanctuary that reveals itself at dawn, inviting everyone to dream and adventure.
