Imperial Crown
Bishorn Monumental
About the work
This black-and-white work resonates within us like an ode to Bishorn. It evokes so many memories. Its routes have attracted so many mountaineers and hikers to summit . Our first sensations in the mountains, our most fragile emotions. Buried over time, they resurface at the turn of this panoramic view of the Imperial Crown. But here, Bishorn seems inaccessible. Its normal path, lurking in the shadows, seems almost unreal. It invites us on a dreamlike, grandiose journey.
From Bishorn, we are transported to summit on the Weisshorn. Its serac-laden north face echoes its prodigious stature. Overlooking the Zinalrothorn, the Matterhorn in turn bears witness to its unrivalled presence. Our journey continues toObergabelhorn and its north face, which remains in shadow until late winter. To its right, the Dent d'Hérens displays its eternal ice. Our flight ends at summit de la Dent Blanche and on the crests of Grand Cornier.
The backlight feeds this work with new reflections. I love the winter light that sculpts the mountains. The Imperial Crown at Zinal seems to come straight out of an imaginary world. Witness to the splendors of the Zermatt and Val d'Hérens borders, it seems to guide us well beyond the Swiss Alps. The contemporary, luminous tones of the photography sublimate your interior as much as they transport you. Every time you look, you're captured by a new perspective. Enchanting mountains that seem to evolve from one horizon to the next.
