Matterhorn, Dent Blanche and Dent d'Hérens
Power and Grandeur
About the work
This triptych celebrates three of Valais's most beautiful summits . In the center, Dent Blanche rises imposingly. To its left, it is surrounded by the Matterhorn, and to its right, the Dent d'Hérens. In the foreground, the Grand Cornier is also part of the picture. These Valais Pyramids, as I like to call them, appear in all their splendor, illuminated by their fresh coat of snow.
I particularly love this spring light, which finally brings the north face of these famous summits high mountains out of the shadows. It illuminates their most vertical and majestic side, where you can admire their magnificent glaciers. These walls, full of history, command respect.
In this work, I sought a balance of form and harmony of relief to reveal the grandeur of these mythical summits . Through the play of light and shadow that characterizes my art, and the striking contrast it creates in the image, the mountains reveal another image of themselves, between flamboyant excess and eternal power.
