Dent Blanche
L'Echo de l'Automne
About the work
I took this portrait on an autumn afternoon, when First snows had just covered summits. The year is 2022, and the high mountains are just recovering from a terribly hot summer. As I took this photograph, I discovered a transformed landscape. The Dent Blanche glacier shows me its new crevasses, like so many traces of the suffering it has undergone over the last few months. A testimony to a living, inexorably evolving mountain. The movement of nature is also materialized by the cloud that clings to summit, evoking the breath of the high mountain winds.
The autumn light is unique, revealing the beauty of Dent Blanche through interesting contrasts, both Soft and deep. I love the shadow cast by the mountain on its glacier. I was very lucky to be present at the very moment when the sun broke through the clouds, gratifying the work with an exceptional dimension. With its unparalleled grace, pyramidal silhouette and regal scale, Dent Blanche is worthy of the finest Himalayan summits . And I dedicate my work to conveying this image of the high mountains, powerful and sumptuous.
