The Dent d'Hérens
The Call of the Mountain
About the work
In the kingdom of Zermatt, I wait for the mountain to assert its sovereignty. The Dent d'HérensMatterhorn's little sister, reveals its Himalayan allure. A perfect pyramid of unrivalled purity, where my gaze is guided between ridges and glaciers.
In this photograph taken in 2018, I wanted to highlight the shades of grey, from the darkest to the immaculate white. Can you see the strata and rimayes that show up discreetly under the effect of light? Can you see the Tête Blanche on the right? It appears as a secondary character in this visual narrative.
Beyond its beauty, the image bears witness to my relationship with the Alps. As deep and complex as the mountains themselves. My quest to understand and communicate with nature never ends. The mountains call to me, and I must respond.
