In the heart of the Valais Alps, the Dom des Mischabels rises to an altitude of 4,545 metres with unrivalled majesty. Unlike the Dufourspitze, the highest mountain in the Swiss Alps shared with Italy, the Dom proudly claims its title as the highest summit located entirely in Switzerland. I captured this fascinating portrait just after the mountain had braved heavy snowfalls, revealing the full power and beauty of its north face.

This square-format photograph reveals a spectacular mountain covered in an immaculate blanket of snow. The Dom's immense hanging glaciers are fascinating in their splendor and complexity. Each crevasse, each fissure catches the eye and awakens a deep emotion in me. True jewels of ice, they are now threatened by the dramatic effects of global warming. Year after year, these glaciers are inexorably shrinking and changing their contours, gradually revealing their long-preserved secrets.

Through this work, I wanted to honor the grandeur of the Dom des Mischabels, highlighting its unique and imposing character. The dazzling whiteness of the mountain dominates the high valleys, the eternal symbol of a nature both powerful and vulnerable. Every day, I marvel at these summits and glaciers, aware that their beauty is irrevocably transformed. My role is to capture these precious moments, immortalize them and pass them on through my art.
