About the work
A fascinating portrait of the Dom des Mischabels, which rises to an altitude of 4,545 metres in the heart of the Valais Alps. While Dufourspitze, the highest mountain in the Swiss Alps, is partly in Italian territory, the Dom is the highest exclusively Swiss mountain in the country summit . I took this magnificent black-and-white photograph by helicopter. At daybreak, when the mountain had just been hit by heavy snowfalls, it was too risky to venture out on the ground. I fly over the Nadelgrat, its shadow cast in the foreground. The Dom's north face captivates our gaze, a sumptuous mountain studded with hanging glaciers. All around, nature offers a panorama of sheer beauty. On the left, we can make out Lyskamm, while on the right, the Matterhorn and Dent d'Hérens stand out on the horizon. How small these colossi seem from such a distance!
In this work, I wanted to highlight the imposing silhouette of the Dom des Mischabels. Sublimated by its immaculate whiteness, it seems to reign supreme over these highlands. The photograph immortalizes the splendor of its gigantic glaciers. Their impressive crevasses inspire me and make me dream. These jewels of ice have been weakened by the inevitable warming of the climate. Every year, they shrink and their contours change. The eternal snows of the Dom still conceal many secrets that they will gradually have to reveal to us. And, as a faithful admirer, I'll be there to welcome their beauty and pass it on to you through my art.

My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo. We had waited many years to put a picture on this blank wall because we had never "flashed" on a piece of art. Now we've found it, and it fits in perfectly at the entrance to our apartment. What's more, it depicts 3 summits that are particularly close to our hearts: the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn - quite a symbol...

As former inhabitants of Zermatt, it's hard to forget the Matterhorn, even in a new environment of mountains and nature.we discovered this large photo of the Matterhorn in a gallery, so strong and intense, it was impossible to forget it........ It became obvious that it should adorn our new apartment as a centerpiece.What's more, we had a very sympathetic contact with the artist, who came himself to deliver his work.It's very appreciable and adds a dimension to the object, to know its creator, his passion, the conditions under which it was taken.The texture of the photo resembles a painting, the lights play on it, Next the hours.
