Fascinating portrait of the Eiger, summit bernese alps , in Switzerland. The difficult conquest of its north face, during which several experienced mountaineers lost their lives, has made it infamous. In this picture, the Mittellegi ridge plays the leading role. It provides "easy" access to the Eiger's summit , from where you can contemplate the merciless verticality of its north face. Climbing this fabulous ridge is one of the projects I'd like to complete over the coming months.

Many attempts were made before I managed to complete this exceptional work. The elements had to come together in symbiosis for the photograph to be perfect. Here, the mountain emerges from a sea of clouds, the last traces of the storm it has just weathered. Hiding the bottom of the Eiger, this white shield seems to urge the mountain to pierce the sky with its sharp edge. The clouds hanging over summit mask the surrounding landscape. In an incredible perspective, the Eiger stands out from the landscape like an obelisk reaching for the sky. The freshly-plated snow on the colossus' walls gives it a regal, timeless dimension. The last essential element in the work is my position, at that unique moment when the magic happens. Precise and carefully considered, it gives the scene its perfect angle.
