Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau
Panorama on the Titans of Grindelwald
About the work
I shot this striking mountain panorama one winter afternoon. The summits mountain peaks, victorious in a snowstorm, bask in the sun's rays illuminating their whitened walls. The clouds tear from east to west, under the force of the winds materialized by the mist still clinging to summits. Giving life to the invisible, giving body to the elements, immortalizing the elusive through the art of photography. This is what inspires and nourishes me. This portrait of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau is an ode to the legendary beauty of these world-famous mountains. It highlights their gigantic silhouettes, the grandeur of their hanging glaciers, the incredible aesthetics of their faces playing with the sun. To the west, their snowy finery sparkles, while their northern slopes slumber in the shade until spring.
To take this panoramic photograph, I had to step back, as the mountains overlook Grindelwald. In the grip of their verticality, we are unable to appreciate their grandeur and scale. A few steps back and a whole new world opens up before our eyes. That of a massif with an incredible personality, sublime and Powerful. The bernese alps jewel, devouring the clouds to reach the sky. My photography is like a jewel box that conceals all the beauty of an authentic and eternal nature.
