The Eiger
Prince of the bernese alps
About the work
What fascinates me about this work is the richness of the textures revealed on this north face: cracks, crevices and hidden rocks are subtly revealed. At the heart of this natural canvas, abstract forms appear furtively. What do you see? A face? A scar? A mysterious imprint? Each glance at the work invites a new, infinite contemplation. When you step back, the mountain takes on all its strength, its obvious monumentality: a majestic rocky mass emerging like an isolated island in the middle of an ocean of mist. This captured moment conveys a profound sense of inaccessibility and untamed grandeur.
The Eiger, peaking at just under 4,000 metres, appears here in all its splendour. Prince of the bernese alps, it towers majestically over its icy kingdom. As a mountain photographer, I'd like to share with you a few minutes of peace and quiet in a masterly world.
