Wonderful panoramic black-and-white photograph of the Finsteraarhorn. summit is the highest mountain in bernese alps, rising to 4274 metres above sea level. The mountain is linked by its ridge to the Agassizhorn, culminating at 3947 meters. Like a mythical animal emerging from the waves, the Finsteraarhorn rises from a sea of clouds to pierce the sky with its sharp summit.

I took this portrait of the Finsteraarhorn at daybreak, when a phenomenal storm had just plastered summit. Fantastic fresh snow exacerbates the diagonals of its face. It highlights the mountain's contours, the texture of its walls, the strength of its features. Whitened in this way, the Finsteraarhorn becomes a sharp-edged pyramid of ice. An indomitable colossus defying the world from the heights of its realm. Through the contrasts it brings, snow adds splendor to the mountain and softness to the work.

In the spring of 2021, fog hangs tenaciously over the Alps. In the foreground of the photograph, the clouds take over the landscape with perfect intensity. The strong winds smooth the grey mist as if the shot had come into being after a long exposure. A nebulous pedestal that softens the work, while in the background, the mountain unfurls its omnipotence. I love the serenity that emanates from the picture and the depths into which our gaze plunges, as if drawn by the beauty of an immoderate, eternal world.
