Finsteraarhorn
About the work
I took this square-format portrait of the Finsteraarhorn at sunrise, when the first rays of light caressed the face of the summit. Admire the depth of the lines and the verticality of the walls. Observe the brilliance of the Obers Ischmeer, which adds infinite detail to the work. The mountain rises from the ashes after the storm, and a hypnotic world is revealed in the realm above. As an obelisk reaching for the sky, the Finsteraarhorn fights one last battle against the fury of the winds.
The Finsteraarhorn takes us on a journey from glacier to rock, from serac to ridge. The summit appears in a new light. Despite its apparent inaccessibility, walking on the flanks of summit proves to be less difficult than one might imagine from this photograph. Nature keeps its secrets that man cannot discover. It charms us as much as it impresses us.
