On the right bank of the Rhone valley, the Finsteraarhorn soars proudly into the sky. Culminating at an altitude of 4274 metres in the bernese alps, the mountain belongs to the celestial lineage that rubs shoulders with the stars from its unshakeable rock. Its majestic silhouette dominates the surrounding landscape like a lord watching over his domain.

The Finsteraarhorn rises from the clouds like a Himalayan summit . A bold pyramid, an immaculate colossus. From shadow to light, its lines reveal the depths of the landscape. Its sharp edge, like a finely honed blade, guides our gaze towards the summit. Further down, the glacier reveals the col where climbers leave their skis before the final ascent. I love the details that snow reveals on its rocky walls. I love the play of textures that shapes its flanks, the beauty of its ridges, the elegance of its drapery.

I took this photograph of the Finsteraarhorn when the stormy winds had just covered it in snow. A glittering adornment with ephemeral reflections that sublimates the presence of an ordinarily discreet giant. For there are portraits we must conquer. The mountains in the heart of the bernese alps shelter far from man. The Finsteraarhorn, because of its remote location, only reveals its majesty after a long journey through wild alpine landscapes. This distance makes the encounter all the more powerful. The emotion we feel when confronted with such a scene is profound, intimate, almost sacred.

To highlight the Finsteraarhorn, I had to be patient and tenacious. Searching for the perfect angle, pinpointing the precise spot where the mountain breaks free from the sea of clouds above. Listening to the mountain and the rhythm of the winds, I waited for a spark to emerge from the highest summits the Alps. The Finsteraarhorn exults in its clean lines, crystalline light and the play of snow on rock. The grace of simplicity, the elegance of purity, these are the strengths of my art.
