This panoramic photograph takes you to the heart of the Swiss Alps, on the borders of the Valais and Bern cantons. Overlooking Grindelwald, the Grosses-Fiescherhorn exposes its glacial face to the rays of an emerging sun. A marvellous north face that only tastes the light a few days a year. From summit, its ridge leads to the Hinteres-Fiescherhorn. Behind these emblematic bernese alps mountains, the Grünhorn finally appears, its bare rock distinguishing it from its whitewashed brothers.

I shot this black-and-white work under a spring dawn. The mountains breathe after battling the storm all night. The snow has covered summits and I capture the moment. Those few magical minutes when nature reveals its most beautiful face to me. A fleeting confession, an evanescent truth. A hand stretched towards her soul that I must grasp at all costs. Whatever the demands of the Queen Mountain, I must be there to bring it to light.

The Grosses-Fiescherhorn invites us on the grandest of journeys, through its seracs and hanging glaciers, carried by the elegance of its rock and snow. As I gaze at this portrait of the Grosses and Hinteres-Fiescherhorn, I remember my footsteps on their ridges. In 2024, I had the incredible good fortune to climb these two summits over 4000 meters above sea level. It wasn't an easy expedition, but when I reached their summit, I was undoubtedly the happiest of men.
