A fabulous portrait of Jungfrau , which, along with the Mönch and the Eiger, dominates the bernese alps mountain range in Switzerland. The mountain peaks at 4158 metres above the Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald valleys. From Wengen, Mürren or Grindelwald, you have to bend over backwards to catch a glimpse of summit , such is its height and vertical cliff face. This black and white photograph highlights the western face of the mountain, with its two summits : Jungfrau and Wengen-Jungfrau, which give it the appearance of a cat's head. I've always been inspired by the generous forms of this legendary mountain, whose name, meaning "Maiden", invites reverie. On the right, the Rottasattel pass, the last stage before reaching summit, leads to the Rottalhorn.

I waited eight long years before achieving this exceptional panorama. Every time there was a storm, I tried my luck. But I kept finding myself under the clouds, unable to see summits. When the mountain finally cleared, day gave way to night, preventing me from photographing it. When the storm struck at night, I would rush to get there at daybreak before it tore itself apart. But it was already too late. The Jungfrau was lost in the blue sky, offering a postcard landscape devoid of emotion. Then, one day, the miracle happened. I'll always remember that suspended moment of exhilaration and deliverance. Incredible victory after so many failures. I could breathe at last, overwhelmed to have witnessed such a beautiful spectacle and proud to have succeeded in immortalizing it through my art.

On this special spring day, nature woke up out of time. The summits of bernese alps appeared one by one, emerging from the mist as if reborn to life. Exposing their dazzling snowy mantle to the sun. In this atmosphere of pure beauty and intense emotion, I took out my camera in honor of the Jungfrau that was offering itself to my gaze, dignified and prestigious. The infinite grandeur of the mountain that, like a pure diamond, tears the sky apart.

The stormy winds are still blowing at summits, bringing the picture to life. I love the balance that is created between the forms. This portrait holds a special place in my heart.
