Faced with the immensity of the eastern peak, my heart palpitates with renewed ardor. A sentinel guarding the entrance to the Rhône valley, it rises to an altitude of 3179 metres. Visible from Vionnaz, Saint-Moritz, Villars-sur-Ollon and the Riviera, it protects the heights of Switzerland. But this peak is distinguished by its spectacular verticality. The foot of summit is almost 800 metres above sea level. These impressive faces captivate my gaze again and again, compelling me to grasp the very essence of the mountain.

I've stood in front of this giant many times, trying to capture the perfect portrait. But the mountain, in its capricious nature, never fully revealed itself. Yet its beauty obsessed me, keeping me on the edge of my seat. I waited, my soul both feverish and hopeful. It was only one day, at dawn, that the Cime de l'Est finally revealed its essence to me. The clouds clung boldly to its summit. And the mountain, like an arrow, pierced the sky to touch the universe.
