The Imperial Crown of Zinal
Purity Tips
About the work
This exceptional panorama of the Imperial Crown at Zinal reveals the most beautiful faces of the mountains. Those to the north have inspired me since day one. I watch for them after every storm. I watch them to capture that moment of grace when they assert their beauty. Whitened by the winds, while a bed of clouds underscores their grandeur. I immortalize the advent of a world beyond ourselves. Where only nature reigns supreme, radiating purity.
I painted this portrait of the Imperial Crown at Zinal in 2021, when the mountains had just endured one of the rare storms of the year. On that day, the air was so clear that, despite the distance, the work in very high definition reveals all the splendours of the landscape. The Alps were about to experience a resplendent day. But for a few minutes yet, the high summits offer us a fascinating spectacle. Where mist meets snow, where light sublimates the rocks. Where the fusion of the elements inspires the most intense emotions.
