The Matterhorn, monumental and sublime, rises into the sky to reign supreme over the imperial crown of Zinal. Its gleaming southern face beckons us to contemplate it. And, answering its call, our gaze takes flight, crossing the Lion ridge to follow the Hörnli and Furggen ridges to the right. The dazzling queen of the Valais Alps watches over her illustrious sisters: Dent Blanche,Obergabelhorn, Zinalrothorn and Weisshorn.

This panoramic photograph bears witness to exceptional conditions. While this wind usually blows from the south, a foehn from the north carries the clouds all the way to Italy. It pours down like a waterfall to Cervinia, at the foot of the Matterhorn. An enchanting sight, sublimated by the marvellous breath of the snow-bearing winds that give their brilliance to the eternal jewels of the Imperial Crown.

I'm delighted to be able to convey such dazzling ardour to you in this work. For me, the Imperial Crown at Zinal is one of the most beautiful places in the Alps. I photograph it tirelessly. In search of its most sublime flashes. And it inspires me to embark on new adventures. In my heart of hearts, I dream of one day traversing the summits of Zinal in its entirety. From ridge to ridge, from summit to summit, climbing these legendary mountains without ever coming back down to the valley floor. A fabulous odyssey in perfect symbiosis with these giants of ice that set my heart on fire as they lift my soul.
