Vertiginous panoramic photography takes us on an encounter with the most beautiful mountains in the Valais Alps. Before our astonished eyes are 12 summits at altitudes of over 4,000 metres. The shot, taken from the heights of the Val de Bagnes, takes us across the massif from west to east. From the Val d'Hérémens, at the foot of Mont Blanc de Cheilon, we sail into the Val d'Hérens, dominated by the Pigne d'Arolla. Then, from the Ferpècle glacier, which rises above the Ferpècle valley, we reach the Zermatt valley, where the imposing Matterhorn and Dent d'Hérens rise. In the background, we can see Dufourspitze, the highest summit in the Swiss Alps, and the majestic Monte Rosa massif. The image takes us on a journey through the mountains, which are well known to mountaineers and linked by numerous mountain huts. A true paradise for ski tourers.

To create this exceptional panorama, I spent a long time studying cartography and exploring the mountains. I've always dreamed of being able to bring together in a single photograph all these summits of the Valais Alps, which I've been lucky enough to climb. On one of my expeditions, I noticed this fantastic viewpoint above summit de La Luette. But to bring the work to life, I had to be there when the storm had just passed, depositing its fresh, immaculate snow on the rocks. I also had to be present during the few days of the year when the sun illuminates the walls at sunrise. This is how the mountain displays its most beautiful finery, giving photography its full depth. Alongside the perfect angle of view comes the fascinating play of light. The faces, like sharp blades pointing skywards, respond to each other across the landscape, defying the world to confront them.
