In the Val de Bagnes, a majestic trinity reigns: the Combin de Tsessette, de Grafeneire and de Valsorey rise majestically above Verbier. From the top of their 4,000-meter peaks, each summit tells its own story, that of a queenly mountain proclaiming its majesty. Not far away, the Aiguille du Croissant rises up, elegant but more discreet. To the left of the photograph, the Combin de Corbassière extends the journey through a thousand and one splendours. Our odyssey continues towards the Petit Combin, whose imposing faces are the stuff of dreams for steep skiers. Can you see the Follas glacier? Tomorrow, climate change will seal its fate irrevocably.

I captured this scene in autumn, when the first snowfalls of the season covered the mountains. I appreciate this light, which reveals unsuspected details, illuminating the glaciers and redefining the mountains in a new light. It brings out previously invisible elements on the walls, redrawing the landscape like a charcoal artist on a blank canvas. Contrasts are created between light and shadow, and the lines sculpt these resplendent mountains.

Today, my admiration for the Combins remains intense and emotional. In my photographs, I capture their strength and splendor. This requires my presence in front of these giants of the Alps, when conditions are ideal and the elements combine to magnify their stature.
