I dreamed up this work as an odyssey to encounter the Combins and their majesty. When, at summit of the Alps, purity emerges from a tormented sky. When nature awakens to serenity beyond the gusts of wind and snow. In early autumn, the mountains are reborn in a new light. More fascinating than ever. I love to contemplate its infinite lines, its deep fault lines. Along their glaciers and vertiginous faces, the Combins reveal the elusive. A world of power and plenitude. A world that is invulnerable and yet so peaceful when dawn cradles it with its golden rays.

Of the photographer or the mountaineer, which of us finally realized this work? For the mountain invites me to photograph, and art invites me to reach the summits. How can I not respond to the call of summits when I immortalize them from below? So I set off, climbing their slopes. I cling to their rocks, I survey their glaciers. I push on, I breathe and I persevere. Until I reach the gates of a sublime, unforgettable realm. A heavenly realm that, against a bed of mist, reveals its splendors and changes us forever.
