I shot this stunning panorama from the heights of Leuk-les-Bains, above the village of Leuk in the Valais Alps. This charming ski resort, also known as Leukerbad, is renowned for its numerous thermal springs. In the foreground of this black-and-white photograph are the Torrent lifts of the Leukerbad slopes, and their iconic summit , the Torrenthorn. Behind them, the peaks unfurl on the border between bernese alps and Valais. On this ridge, which winds between land and sky, stand the Eiger and the Jungfrau. Alongside these legendary mountains are Breithorn and Äbeni Flue. At the center of the picture, the Restirothorn and Loicherspitza dominate the Lötschental. This gigantic valley leads to the Lötschenlücke pass, home to the Hollandia hut. The Finsteraarhorn dominates the horizon, followed on its right by the Aletschhorn and Bietschhorn.

I conceived this panoramic photograph as an invitation to dream in the face of the transcendent beauty of the high, snow-capped mountains. Listening to the heights, I was able to capture the ephemeral masterpiece that nature created after one of the rare spring storms to hit the Swiss Alps in 2020. A sumptuous landscape whitened by snow and carried by mist. A fascinating journey between light and shadow. I love these contrasts that reveal the duality of the world. Like the yin and yang of a reality that longs to reinvent itself. With this photograph, I wanted to show you these magnificent mountains from a new angle. To inspire you to climb or contemplate them.
