On the border between the Valais and Aosta Valleys, the Lyskamm soars into the sky in the middle of winter. Lord of the Valais Alps, it unfurls its majestic silhouette and imposes itself in all its splendor. From the top of the Klein Matterhorn, I captured this very special photograph. With unrivalled presence, the ridges form pure, almost abstract lines. A mineral, icy world opens up to our gaze, sculpted by the fury of winds and the violence of storms. Every relief, every shadow, every silvery reflection bears witness to the titanic struggle these summits wage against the elements. This imposing mountain boasts two distinct summits linked by a spectacular two-kilometre ridge. To the east, the eastern summit rises to 4,532 metres, making it the eighth-highest summits in the Alps. To the west, the western summit rises to 4479 metres.
