About the work
Make way for the Matterhorn, sovereign of the Swiss Alps, immortalized here in its most beautiful light at dusk. I took this photograph in autumn, when summit had just been decked out in its First snows. The intimate, deep night light reveals the beauty of the Matterhorn's north face, which had been swept by a storm the day before. The winds blew away its white veil to cover the neighbouring wall, now clad in an immaculate mantle. The north face of the Matterhorn enjoys the last rays of sunshine before sinking into darkness throughout the winter. The mountain is then faced with terrible storms, which it fights valiantly until the warm weather returns.
It took me many years to find that special angle from which to immortalize the Matterhorn in all its grandeur. The portrait highlights its imposing stature and perfect aesthetics. I love this aspect of my job as a photographer, which consists in exploring the high mountains to discover unsuspected gems. To offer you, through my art, the most beautiful views of the Alps.
In this photograph, the snow highlights the incredible texture of the rock. Its lines and curves plunge us into the thousand-year-old history of this legendary mountain. With every glance, we discover new, imperceptible and fascinating details of the Matterhorn. The mountain surprises us, catches us off guard and overwhelms us. With every storm, it transforms, dons a new costume and reveals a different image of itself. At every moment, she inspires us differently. Contemplating its portrait turns our certainties upside down. The mountain draws us in and takes us on a journey far beyond reality.

As former inhabitants of Zermatt, it's hard to forget the Matterhorn, even in a new environment of mountains and nature.we discovered this large photo of the Matterhorn in a gallery, so strong and intense, it was impossible to forget it........ It became obvious that it should adorn our new apartment as a centerpiece.What's more, we had a very sympathetic contact with the artist, who came himself to deliver his work.It's very appreciable and adds a dimension to the object, to know its creator, his passion, the conditions under which it was taken.The texture of the photo resembles a painting, the lights play on it, Next the hours. We were bowled over!
My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo. We had waited many years to put a picture on this blank wall because we had never "flashed" on a piece of art. Now we've found it, and it fits in perfectly at the entrance to our apartment. What's more, it depicts 3 summits that are particularly close to our hearts: the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn - quite a symbol...
