The mountain awakens above Zermatt. Queen mountain, guardian of the Valais. I've dreamed of it so many times. This portrait of the Matterhorn, timeless and dazzling. I wanted it as a matter of course. I wanted it to be unique. As the bearer of the grandeur of the Alps, I recognize my ambition in it. To embody the beauty of the heights through my art. The desire to pass on the history of summits, to preserve their memory, to honor them. I see in it the essence of life, a thirst for the absolute. The quintessence of a nature as fleeting as it is eternal. And behind the Matterhorn, legendary mountains rise up. From Zermatt to Chamonix, the hymn rings out. The Dent d'Hérens, Mont Blanc, Grand Combin, Aiguille Verte, Tête de Valpelline and Tête Blanche sing in unison the purity of the Matterhorn.

At the end of winter, the forecast called for heavy skies, but I didn't believe it. I was convinced that something was waiting for me up there. So I followed my intuition and took off in a helicopter. I took off in the half-light so as to be facing the Matterhorn when daylight began to break. Suddenly, the sky cleared. The light of dawn took over the sky, making the snow-white Matterhorn shine with a thousand lights. Moved by the sight before me, I photographed it. Thanks to my state-of-the-art camera, the quality of the work is exceptional. With its pure intensity, the Matterhorn revealed itself at the confines of night and day, as if at the origins of the world. Transcending the boundaries of immensity, I love the light that revealed it that day.
