Matterhorn
The Hat
About the work
It begs the question: does luck really exist, or is it the result of many attempts? After countless nights sleeping in my tent near the Matterhorn, hoping for different and special conditions each time, luck suddenly appeared to me.
That day, there was a lot of snow, and when the sun came up, there were no clouds. The snow conditions were perfect on the Matterhorn, and then the weather began to change radically. A lenticular cloud began to form in the sky, created by strong high-altitude winds. With the tripod set up, I was ready to welcome this unexpected moment of truth.
The use of a black filter was used to smooth and capture the movement of the cloud to obtain that floating sensation as if clinging to the summit of the Matterhorn, giving an impression of movement from another world.
This work is a constant reminder that luck doesn't make everything happen. It's up to us to act with the right intention, to try, to persevere and to be ready to welcome because, sometimes and without expecting it: we can encounter one of those moments of profound truth on our path.
