Contemplating this panoramic photograph, we are transported to the heart of bernese alps. Our gaze, fascinated by the splendour of the Mönch and its immensity, flies to the horizon at summit of the Finsteraarhorn and Fiescherhorn. The work reveals itself to be at the crossroads of worlds. Universes rub shoulders, shadows brush against each other. The mountain reveals its many faces.

In the foreground, our odyssey begins with transcendence. A plunge into abstraction. Satiny snow, pure lines. A graphic journey from shadow to light. In the center of the picture, the atmosphere is quite different. The realm of mountaineering opens its doors. Johann Filliez and Antoine Délitroz climb the Mönch together via its normal route. The wind rages at such a high altitude, and the sharp ridge resists the assault. The slightest misstep could prove fatal. So they concentrate on the moment. With each step, they sink a little deeper into the snow, but their tenacity will lead them to the summit of the Mönch. On a bed of clouds, the mountain finally reveals its ultimate face. When immensity unites with the most beautiful landscapes. When eternal snow and unchanging rock form an unforgettable dream in the sky. At an altitude of over 4,000 metres, nature abounds in marvels, and I like to capture them in order to preserve them.
