Mont Blanc
Light-Obscure Panoramic
About the work
The easiest route is the Goûter. We pass the Tête Rousse refuge before crossing the Couloir de la Mort. The Goûter refuge appears like a spot of frost in the middle of the immense massif. After crossing the Dôme du Goûter, we reach the summit of the Sovereign of the Alps. The photograph also reveals the traverse via the voie des trois monts. We then have to climb Mont Blanc du Tacul and Mont Maudit to reach summit via the Col de Brenva. The third route shown in the picture is the voie royale. We cross the Bionnassay ridge, impressive both for its verticality and the beauty of its hanging glaciers. We continue to the Dôme du Goûter before reaching the roof of Europe.
I made this grandiose panorama of the Mont Blanc massif in the dead of winter. Under the comforting warmth of the first rays of sunshine, the mountain wakes up. A few clouds remind it of the intensity of the storm it has just weathered. Its walls are completely plastered with snow. An ephemeral mantle that reveals its incredible beauty, enhanced by silver and Soft contrasts. I imagined this photograph as an ode to the illustrious Mont Blanc. To the grandeur of its crossings, to the immensity of its glacial mass, to its unrivalled charisma. Between light and shadow, the Alps reveal their most beautiful features here summits.
