A sublime theater of ice and light, the Monte Rosa massif reveals its grandeur between Switzerland and Italy. The second highest massif in the Alps after Mont Blanc, it unfurls its vertiginous summits in a symphony of ice and rock. I shot this masterly portrait at a moment of rare poetry, when light and the elements seemed in perfect harmony. This magnificent black-and-white photograph features the Parrotspitze, whose sculpted ridge immediately catches the eye. Dressed in Himalayan finery, the mountain bursts forth in immaculate grace after overcoming the fury of the winds. Its crest, sublimated by fresh snow shaped by recent gusts, draws an undulating line of infinite elegance. To witness this exceptional spectacle, I had to provoke fate.

Listening to the mountain and the rhythm of the winds, I waited for a spark to emerge from the highest summits the Alps. The subdued light subtly accentuates every fold and nuance of the snow, creating a Soft , poetic contrast with the discreet shadows of the steeper slopes. In the background, Pointe Gnifetti, also known as Signalkuppe, silently observes. Less assertive but just as majestic, it harmoniously completes this alpine composition. The soft mist that floats around the summits adds a dreamlike dimension to the whole. Isolating the peaks from the surrounding landscape, it reveals only the essential.
