Along the ridges of the Nadelgrat, we fly over the Alps and the Mischabel. This sumptuous ridge opens the way to a whole new world. On the borders of the Saas Fee and Zermatt valleys, we balance between light and shadow, between earth and sky. In the foreground of the photograph, the Dirruhorn brandishes its magnificent cross like a call to adventure. The Nadelgrat takes us from the Dirrujoch to summit on the Hobärghorn, 4218 m above sea level. A grandiose peak born of the union of black and white at the center of the work. We continue our ascent to the Stecknadelhorn before finally reaching summit du Nadelhorn. Then, on the left, we return down the normal route of this traverse. To the right of the picture, the Dom des Mischabel watches over the Alps and its most beautiful summits. And behind it, in the shadows, the Täschhorn lurks like a sentinel.

This fabulous portrait of the Nadelgrat highlights the giants of the Alps. Six legendary mountains rich in the splendour of their hanging glaciers. As I admire the immaculate ridge, I remember every moment of its crossing. That day, with my friend Vivian Bruchez, we battled winds, snow and cold. I love this work for the past moments that resurface in me when I contemplate it.

I also love this photograph for its changing reflections. When light and shadow dance in the sky, shaping the mountain and bringing the work to life. I love it when the elements mingle, intersect and unite to bring the grandeur of the Alps to the fore. At the start of summer, the winds gave the Nadelgrat a dazzling display. And I was lucky enough to be able to capture this precious moment.
