Gigantic pyramids of rock and ice expose their northern slopes to the rising sun. The hero of black-and-white panoramic photography,Obergabelhorn is enthroned in the heart of the Valais Alps. Its normal route on the left and the heart ridge on the right underline its presence. Alongside it, the Matterhorn and the Dent d'Hérens chorus the grandeur of a world inaccessible to man.

I painted this portrait of the giants of the Valais at the beginning of summer. A providential storm had just plastered the rocks, restoring the mountain's purity. In autumn and winter alike, the harshness of the weather takes its toll on summits and the snow is often swept away by roaring winds. But in summer, when conditions are right, the snow clings more easily to the walls. Transforming the Alps into a treasure trove of diamonds in the rough.

I've waited so long for this moment. TheObergabelhorn, the Matterhorn and the Dent d'Hérens in their most beautiful light. I was lucky enough to climb these three legendary summits with my friend Vivian Bruchez. These mountains vibrate within me. I'm constantly on the lookout for their evolution, listening to them. I hover around them, on the lookout for the right light, the perfect angle, the atmosphere that will bring out their beauty. That morning, I took off by helicopter just as the sun was rising. And nature offered me this fabulous spectacle. What an honor for the photographer in me to have been able to immortalize summits in this way!

The cloudless sky Light accentuated the strength of the picture. Carried by a grandiose alignment of mountains. I imagined this work as a geometric search to the glory of these three summits, which for me are among the most beautiful in the Alps. Through contrasts of Soft and silver, nature is revealed. A play of shapes and excesses on the edge of heaven and earth.
