Bernese Alps
Panoramic Tour
About the work
Our journey begins at summit on the Schluchhore, which rises to an altitude of 2583 metres in the foreground of the photograph. We then reach Spitzhore, where the sun shines down on the snow-covered mountains. Near Adelboden, the famous Bernese resort ofOberland , we admire the vertiginous face of the Lohner. Our gaze then wanders to the summit of the Wildstrubel, which rises to 3243 metres above sea level at the gateway to the Valais. Finally, the artwork guides us to summit , where the Altels and Balmhorn peaks rise to 3630 and 3607 metres respectively. To their right, the magnificent Aletschhorn towers 4194 metres into the sky. The adventure continues to the left of the picture, on the edge of bernese alps. Overlooking Grindelwald, the Wetterhorn stands alongside the region's most famous mountains. A legendary triptych, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, freshly adorned with snow, sparkle with beauty.
I shot this grandiose panorama one winter afternoon, when the storm was finally giving way to sunshine. It took me many years to find the perfect angle. The one that would allow me to bring depth to the landscape. Carried away by the splendour of the high, snow-capped mountains, our gaze becomes lost. Among the summits and the tangled reliefs. Through peaks and passes, we cross the different planes of the work to finally contemplate the most spectacular mountains. A stunning shot that plays on perspective to highlight this natural wall. Its defensive turrets are perfectly aligned, and its rocky spurs are perfectly staged. Even the most seasoned mountaineers will dream of this work.
