Le Réveil des bernese alps
About the work
In the background rise the famous summits 4000-meter peaks, including the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and Finsteraarhorn. The latter is recognizable by its distinctive molar shape, while from other angles it appears as a thin blade, offering a different perception of itself. This, I believe, is the magic of alpine photography: depending on the angle from which you look, the position from which you choose, the mountain reveals a unique face each time. Changing its appearance as we travel, it continually dons a new coat, a divine tragedienne, inevitably provoking surprise and admiration. In portraying these bewitching summits , I seek to reveal their different personalities, each more inspiring than the last.
To capture this almost unreal panorama, between light and shadow, I waited for the precise moment when the storm moved away, leaving the mountains freshly covered in snow. I love these immaculate landscapes, untouched by human presence. The presence of clouds was also essential for me. Clinging to summits and tearing at low altitude, they add depth to the image and grandeur to summits. We can't take our eyes off this grandiose landscape that never ceases to make us dream.
