Swiss Alps
The song of the summits
About the work
Our journey begins in the Valais Alps. In the foreground of the photograph, Mount Besso enjoys the first rays of sunshine on val d’Anniviers, while its Blanc de Moming ridge meanders peacefully in the shadows. Behind it, a gigantic pyramid, the Dent Blanche guides us, sparkling, up to the Grand Cornier. The second shot takes us into the Val d'Hérens, in the center of the picture. The Aiguille de la Tsa, a discreet peak reclining in the shadows, contrasts with the Pigne d'Arolla, whose bleached face glistens in the sunlight. From Mont Blanc de Cheilon, we enter the Val de Bagnes. Opposite us, Grand Combin and the Combin de la Tsessette reveal their grandeur. To the right, the mountains of Chamonix appear on the horizon. Mont Blanc, king of the Alps, seems to rub shoulders with the sky. The Aiguille du Midi ridge leads us to the Courtes, Droites, Aiguille Verte, Aiguille d'Argentière, Aiguille du Chardonnet and Aiguille du Tour. The Mont Blanc massif rises in majesty. Then it's back to Mont de l'Étoile. The shadow of the Weisshorn is reflected on its dazzling face. The silhouette of a colossus whose ridge takes us from the Grand Gendarme to Bishorn.
I created this exceptional panorama as a tribute to the beauty of the mountain. Thanks to the contrasts brought about by the recent snowfall, the work enjoys a unique depth. The morning shadows invite us to travel from valley to valley, discovering all these high summits. Light and shadow punctuate the picture and set the pace. Each summit responds to the other, as if in a song proclaiming the infinite splendor of the Alps.
