Here's a portrait of a majestic summit . Piz Cengalo reigns in the Bernina chain, in the heart of the Rhaetian Alps. Not far from Piz Bernina, this colossus owes its notoriety to the impressive landslide that transformed its face in 2017. A gaping scar on a mountain that reminds us of the impact of global warming on the Alps.

The Bernina mountains remain a challenge for me. I'm several hours' drive from this range. So I always anticipate and analyze the weather conditions that will allow me to immortalize these mountains. But nature keeps its secrets. I've made many trips, experienced failure and savored frustration. Then one day, the mountains offered themselves to me. That day, after the fury of a storm, Piz Cengalo emerged from the clouds like a ship emerging from the mist. The first rays of sunlight caressed the rock. The whiteness of the fresh snow contrasts with the ruggedness of the dark face. A veil of cloud still envelops the massif. Piz Cengalo seems to float, free of earthly laws, as if suspended between our world and infinity. This ethereal vision embodies the very essence of my photographic quest: to capture those fleeting moments when the mountain reveals its wildest character.

Each encounter with these alpine giants brings intense emotions. Facing Piz Cengalo, I feel both admiration and humility. This silent contemplation feeds my inspiration. With this photograph, I share a fragment of eternity captured in a landscape of grandeur and serenity.
