About the work
I waited a long time for the perfect moment to capture this photograph of Piz Roseg. I waited for a storm to envelop the summit and capture it at its best, when the summit is freshly snow-covered and glowing with warm light. When I first saw this mountain from the air, its north face immediately captivated me: gigantic, vertical, inaccessible. Today, looking at this work, the summit reminds me of Breithorn, with its lines reminiscent of a crescent moon.
Admire the contrast in this photograph: the power of Piz Roseg confronts the soft hues of the snow. This is the essence of my art: to reveal a mountain that is both inaccessible and gentle. Observe the play of duality - the rays coming from the left illuminate the right-hand side of the work, while the wind from the right pushes the clouds to the left.
In immortalizing this photograph of Piz Roseg, I wanted to emphasize the verticality of the massif and its grandeur. In its color and composition, the work embodies the aesthetics of the summit. Life is breathed into this work, that of the mountain, the clouds and the elements. At every moment, nature reveals its infinite beauty.
