About the work
Dawn breaks the veil of clouds and Piz Roseg emerges. After the storm, the first rays of sunlight caress the fresh snow covering the peak. Westerly winds batter its eastern face. Clouds form, then begin their dance around summit.
In this black-and-white photograph, Piz Roseg is only partially visible, its north face partly obscured by mist. It's up to you to imagine the mountain behind this veil. After all, don't you draw summit according to your own sensibility? Mirror of your truths, reflection of your past.
Between Shadows and lights, in a setting of silvery contrasts, the view of Piz Roseg continues to captivate me, even years after I immortalized it. At sunrise, it only took a split second for the mist to break and briefly reveal the landscape. At that moment, I was ready to capture the fleeting moment. The heritage of the Engadine Alps was revealed.
